That revenue goes back to our work with the kola nut growers and their families in Sierra Leone to invest in local people, projects and conservation of the beautiful island of Tiwai.  

Back in 2012, when the first bottles of Karma Cola were made, the kola nut growers we work with decided the money should do something big: send girls to school. In their communities, when families had to choose, sons usually got the classroom seat while daughters missed out. Which shows up in the stats: 60% of women in Sierra Leone are illiterate. So the kola nut growers set up a bursary to turn things around for girls and give them a fair shot. Since then, education’s been at the heart of the Karma Foundation; from growing the girls’ bursary fund, to paying and training teachers, to building new schools - culminating in improving educational standards and attainment of all the children attending school. Because when girls get to learn, everyone wins.
